Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard shares what he's about to say to Umar Sadiq
Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten yesterday, with Steven Gerrard 's side disappointing.
Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told the Herald Scotland that Umar Sadiq needed to stay on his feet at the crucial moment in his side’s match against Aberdeen yesterday .
Rangers took on Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park and Sadiq’s performance have drawn a lot of criticism.
The summer signing looked out of his depth as he led the line for Rangers in their 1-0 defeat.

Sadiq’s best chance to score came when he was through on goal, but he inexplicably chose to go down, rather than tap the ball into an empty night, leaving his manager frustrated.
And an angry Gerrard said he was planning to read the riot act to the striker in the near future.
“His performance up until the final bit today was okay," he said.
“We can’t point fingers and blame Umar.
But what I would say to him is if you go around the ‘keeper, stand up and put the ball in the net. Don’t dive or you are going to get a yellow card. Could he have carried on and scored? 100 per cent.”
Sadiq’s Rangers’ future already looks to be in doubt, given his slow start at Ibrox.
The striker has only been given limited game time, and he did not do his case for starting more regularly any favours yesterday.
Sadiq looks almost certain to be given a reserve role again, after his latest performance.
Rangers will be thankful that usual number nine Alfredo Morelos is back available for selection in their next match.
